PHARMACEUTICALS

• Put research and development back into the university systems where there is an open dialog and eliminate drug patenting as well as the subsidies to the drug companies.
  
• We spend billions of dollars in subsidies for research for pharmaceutical companies that then charge us outrageous fees for the product in an every growing monopolistic environment.
  
  • Use that money to fund Colleges and Universities research which is an open platform of exchange of ideas and available to anyone in the private sector to use.
    
  • In this environment you will see an explosion of small competitive pharmaceutical companies competing on an honest and open playing field.
    
  • The model for this is the Herbal Encapsulating industry in which all of the material that is used by the companies is equally available and priced and developed with no patent protections generally. The Encapsulating Industry presently has many of the same stringent requirements as the pharmaceutical firms. The costs for this research would be a great deal less than we see presently with a substantial savings to the taxpayer in reduced health care costs.
