Being Human Party Issues:

VETERANS (See the War and Military Action Initiative)

• There are many issues not the least of which is to question the authority to place men and women into a position of Kill or be killed which is exactly what war is.
  
• There should be two levels of enlistment:
  
  1. Non-combat and
     
  2. Combat.
     
• Combat would be a voluntary action that would also see a dramatic increase in pay, and benefits to the veteran and their families.
  
• Our young people are languishing in an impossible situation, being killed or wounded at unacceptable levels (0 is my acceptable level) and killing or wounding citizens of another country because of politically motivated agendas that have nothing to do with the inherent principles and ideals of this nation and it's people or the International principles and mandates that we played a significant role in establishing.
  
• Other issues of great concern wrapped in this particular issue are:
  
  1. a. The return of our fallen soldiers either wounded or dead with honor and dignity: As a nation we should always honor our fallen and wounded with a public welcome in ceremony and with dignity, which they deserve, and we require. At present we sneak our dead and wounded in for political expediency with no appreciation or recognition for the sacrifices that have been made. This appears to be done with the collaboration of the media at large, which are the eyes, and ears of this nation.
     
     This is also a time of closure and awareness of those sacrifices that is critical for the families and the citizenry to close ranks on the terrible loss to this nation. I find this action as a Veteran and Citizen intolerable, disingenuous, and reflective of the mean spirited and callous nature of this present leadership.
